------------------UPDATE 2 -----------------

We have received the following updated casualty report:

* General Average has been declared by shipowners. Consequently, General Average security is required to be provided by parties interested in cargo except in respect of cargo shipped under bills of lading issued by Maersk Line, Safmarine or Hamburg Sud Line.

* WKW have been approach by certain parties interested in cargo loaded onboard the vessel and we are currently liaising with the appointed Average Adjusters as to the provision of GA security. We maybe also be able to offer certain economies of scale in respect of any third party costs which may need to be incurred, in particular investigating the cause of this casualty.

* We recommend that you contact us urgently if you are concerned with any cargo on board this vessel so that we can immediately start taking steps to protect your interests.

------------------UPDATE 1-------------------

We have received the following updated casualty report:

* MAERSK VILNIUS was taken in tow by tug to Cristobal port, Panama, where the convoy arrived safely on 8 May 2020. The vessel later discharged cargo onboard at the Colon Container Terminal on 9 May 2020.

* It is reported that the crew were able to restore electrical power to temperature-controlled containers. Hence, the temperature of cargo stowed to those containers may have been maintained.

* Nevertheless, it is possible that deterioration may occur to time sensitive cargo and claims for consequential damages could arise as a result of the prolongation of the voyage.

* It is also possible that General Average / Salvage issues may arise as a result of this casualty.

* Please contact us urgently if you are concerned with any cargo on board this vessel so that we can immediately start taking steps to protect your interests.

-----------ORIGINAL-------------

We have received the following new casualty report:

* MAERSK VILNIUS experienced fire in the engine room approximately 220 nautical miles east of Guadeloupe on 26 April 2020.

* The vessel is reported to be disabled as a result of the fire and a tug has been deployed from Trinidad and Tobago to assist the vessel.

* It is possible that General Average / Salvage issues may arise as a result of this casualty.

* If General Average is declared, General Average security may be required from all Cargo Interests prior to the delivery of their cargo and we are likely to be able to assist.

* Salvage Security may also be demanded from a source in the UK and W K Webster may be able to assist in that regard. Security provided by WKW is acceptable to the Council of Lloyds and widely preferred by professional Salvors.

* We recommend that you contact us urgently if you are concerned with any cargo on board this vessel so that we can immediately start taking steps to protect your interests.
