Report

* We have received reports that the crude oil tanker NEW ANDROS (IMO: 9294252) was struck by a drone in the Persian Gulf near the Strait of Hormuz on 9 September 2026.

* It is reported that the tanker caught fire as a result of the strike, which was subsequently extinguished with the assistance of local rescue tugboats. The vessel is currently anchored at Khor Al Zubair, where investigations are underway to assess the extent of the damage, with repairs potentially to follow.

* It is possible that General Average/ Salvage issues may arise as a result of this incident, there will also likely be loss or damage too.
