* We have received reports that bulk carrier MERCHANT MARINER (IMO: 9522647) allided with a reef in a position off Dung Quat, Vietnam on 18 September 2026.
* It is reported that the vessel experienced an ingress of water to multiple ballast tanks as a consequence of the allision and subsequently developed a significant list to port.
* We understand that the vessel later moved to anchor off Dung Quat and port tugs are assisting the vessel under direction of the local authorities.
* It is possible that General Average, Salvage and associated Recovery issues may arise as a result of this incident.
* We therefore recommend that you contact us if you are concerned with any cargo on board the vessel at the time of the incident so that we can immediately start taking steps to protect your interests.
