Report

* BANYAN PRIDE was required to let go her port anchors to avoid a potential collision with anchored vessel TIGER GLORY during a period of high seas whilst at anchor at Zona Comun Anchorage, Buenos Aires on 5 May 2020.

* Both anchors and anchor chains were fouled as a result of their deployment and required cleaning to enable the vessel to continue its voyage.

* Shipowners later declared GA as a result of the incident.

* Consequently, GA security is required to be provided in respect of all cargo interests stowed on board the vessel at the time of the incident to enable release of cargo at the destination ports and we are likely to be able to assist in that regard.

* We have already been instructed by certain cargo interests and we are liaising with the appointed Average Adjusters to agree the terms of the security to be provided and maybe able to offer certain economies of scale in respect of any third party costs which may need to be incurred.

* We understand that the vessel departed Maputo Bay Anchorage, Mozambique on 3 June 2020, destined for Beira port. We therefore recommend that you contact us urgently if you are concerned with any cargo stowed on board this vessel so that we can immediately start taking steps to protect your interests.
