* We have received reports that bulk carrier, MARGUERITA, experienced an engine breakdown in a position approximately 20 nautical miles north of Ushant Island in the English Channel on 3 December 2020.

* The crew were unable to effect repairs overnight, during which period the vessel is reported to have drifted to within approximately 10 nautical miles of the coastline. Consequently, the vessel was taken under tow by tug to Brest, France where the convoy arrived safely on 5 December.

* The vessel is reported to have been loaded with a cargo of coal destined for Antwerp, Belgium at the time of the incident.

* Repairs are expected to be effected by 8 December whereupon the vessel is expected to resume its voyage towards Antwerp.

* It is possible that General Average / Salvage and associated recovery issues may arise as a result of this casualty.
