* We are advised that owners of fully cellular container carrier, OCEANA have declared General Average as a consequence of the vessel's collision with container carrier, XIN QI SHENG 69 13 December 2020.

* OCEANA sustained significant damage to its bow section as a consequence of the collision and repairs are necessary to be effected to the vessel to enable its voyage to be completed.

* We understand that the vessel is currently at anchorage off Shanghai, awaiting authority from the Chinese authorities to come to berth to enable the cargo to be discharged and repairs to be effected.

* General Average security will be required from all Cargo Interests prior to the delivery of their cargo and we are likely to be able to assist in that regard.

* We have already been instructed by certain cargo interests and we may therefore able to offer certain economies of scale in respect of any third party investigation costs which may need to be incurred concerning the cause of the casualty.

* We therefore recommend that you contact us urgently if you are concerned with any cargo on board this vessel so that we can immediately start taking steps to protect your interests.
