* We are advised that general cargo vessel, BEATA experienced an engine breakdown off Crete on 18 January 2021.

* Shipowners are reported to have entered into a salvage contract with professional salvors under LOF terms and the vessel was later taken under tow towards Cyprus for inspection, and possibly repairs.

* Consequently, Salvage Security is required to be provided by all cargo interests prior to termination of the salvage services and W K Webster may be able to assist. Security provided by WKW is acceptable to the Council of Lloyds and widely preferred by professional Salvors.

* If General Average is declared, General Average security may also be required from all Cargo Interests prior to the delivery of their cargo and we are also likely to be able to assist in that regard.

* Associated recovery issues may also arise as a result of this casualty.

* We understand that the subject cargo was shipped for the account of a well known mobile electronics company and consigned to cargo receivers located in Batam, Indonesia and City of Angeles, Philippines.

* We recommend that you contact us urgently if you insure the subject cargo in order that we can immediately start taking steps to protect your interests.
