------------------UPDATE-------------------

22 March 2021

* We have received the following updated information concerning the grounding of bulk carrier, KEMET STAR:

* Owners of the vessel entered into a Turkish Open Form (T.O.F.) Salvage Agreement with the Turkish Coastal Safety authority on 19 March 2021.

* Initial salvage attempts by the Coastal Safety authority to refloat the vessel were unsuccessful. The vessel was later successfully refloated on 20 March 2021 with the assistance of two tugs.

* The vessel was subsequently taken under tow to a safe anchorage north of Bozcaada Island for inspection.

* It is reported that Owners are required to pay salvage expenses to the Coastal Safety account before the vessel will be permitted to depart.

* It is therefore possible that General Average and/or Salvage and associated recovery issues may arise as a result of this casualty and we may be able to assist in that regard.

* We therefore recommend that you contact us urgently if you are concerned with any cargo on board this vessel so that we can seek to assist with the timely provision of GA/Salvage security, if required.
