Smooth Sea 2

* It is reported that product tanker, SMOOTH SEA 2 experienced an explosion and fire whilst berthed at the IRPC Petroleum Terminal at Bangkok on 9 March 2022.

* The fire is reported to have been brought under control within a short time by local firefighters.

* The vessel currently remains at the berth for inspection and investigation of the cause of the explosion.

* It is possible that General Average / Salvage and associated recovery issues may arise as a result of this casualty.
