GLORIA G

* We have received reports that bulk carrier, GLORIA G (IMO: 9305099) experienced an engine failure whilst navigating the Canakkale Strait, Turkey on 31 May 2024.

* It is reported that the vessel was taken under tow by coastal safety tugs to anchor in a position north of Sevketiye anchorage, Turkey where it remains, presumably for inspection, and possibly, repairs.

* The Turkish authorities will demand payment from the vessel owner for salvage expenses before the vessel departs from Turkish waters.

* It is therefore possible that General Average issues may arise as a result of this casualty.

* We therefore recommend that you contact us if you are concerned with any cargo on board this vessel so that we can immediately start taking steps to protect your interests.
